back to 'wi-fi Exeter'

update 5th Oct

It was hard to believe that in 2005 there could be no awareness within Tate Modern around the potential of Open Source for communication / media.

Online searching reveals that there is indeed a conference coming up next weekend. And this is not just a chance collection of people who happen to have chosen the venue for no good reason.

The Tate will offer a webcast of the whole occasion, plus a discussion board for a few weeks.

Maybe by next summer there will be a wider social base for connections with Radio Vague etc. and open air music could come within the scope of official art.

Meanwhile in Exeter there will be a season of screenings and discussion at the Black Box, starting tonight. There is now web access at the Phoenix Media Centre but actual wi-fi may wait on next summer. Imagined wi-fi is as strong as ever.
