| Draft Articles
20June 2005, update before Forum. I have done some new articles but i hope to find out about ideas on quality and learning relating to the web. See notes. 'Citizen reporting' can well include draft outlines full of gaps in knowledge, it seems to me. Anyway, I am going to try this for a while. The notes cover HESFES, open source, quality and learning. There may be a link to previous attempts at articles about ISO9000. I need to understand more about Asian approaches to quality. There is new information from the British Library. I have tried to get this in as a main story once before. The PDF service is definite advance and something the UK can offer. I don't just want to do stories about how UK media find the new technology disruptive. Another story is more or less about the Guardian again. I keep going on about this as when they finally decide to go with the web they will influence a lot of UK media as well. The 'digital edition' is already pretty good and could go further. ------ previously These pages are to develop stories that may become suitable for OhmyNews. I have had two stories accepted recently for the Technology pages at the English language section. These were on Google's impact at the Online Information event and on the PDF publishing from the Financial Times. I think OhmyNews are interested in the consequences of technology for how media can develop. there are some interesting things happening in the UK, maybe more than is obvious. I started last year with a story about the Guardian where there is still apparently some hesitation in promoting the 'digital editions'. ABC have announced that they would issue a certificate for digital editions as part of the numbers for print. However no titles have 'opted in' so far. This is still the main story that interests me. Most UK news titles now have an online aspect that is not fully reported in their print versions. If they wrote more about themselves then the trends would be easier to relate to the articles in OhmyNews, where broadband is assumed. OhmyNews is organising a conference on June 23rd. Please help me to improve these articles so I stand a chance of being invited to attend. Any related information or links would help. You might also send in similar articles. Things seem to work better with more involvement from many citizen reporters. I think people in the UK can benefit from looking at all the issues that OhmyNews is covering.
