"Animex" is an online fringe for animation in Exeter

There was a table at the Careers day Feb16 in St Georges's Hall. Later there will be some more Amazon links to recover costs. Probably there will be another table next year. The approach will be based on training as at Hyperactive. A keynote for Seybold Amsterdam will argue that graphic design needs to combine web, print and TV. There were CDs from Macromedia and Adobe introducing some software that covers web and hard copy.

The training aspect of Animated Exeter now reflects the potential for animation on the web and through computers. Courses at the Phoenix and Central Library cover Photoshop, Flash, Director and After Effects. Here is one site that could have better Flash after the courses.

There will be some information on 'wifi Exeter' and other related projects such as Psand satellite services and community wifi.

Many people will be interested in animation though they probably won't get a job. Also more people will be using Photoshop Elements with home digital cameras than work full time with Photosop and all the plugins. Below are two PDFs that are almost animated and also a mystery graphic. Both done with Photoshop Album.

By the way, Disney recently closed one studio so digital animation must be part of a career discussion.

One interesting event during the Careers Day was the demonstration that anything on Windows or DOS can be shown on a screen. This was tested with one extract from scene.org during lunchtime and it did work. Maybe next year there will be an actual advertised occasion for such stuff.
