This year seems to be going in two directions. Scene.org is the most interesting stuff. But on the skills front hard copy design seems to be disappearing. More at Guardian talk.

There is now a video interview with Kris Sum about scene.org, probably at Life Bytes before it closes. Something on Friday around 11 am.

Text version of interview
pdf, links to FAQ and about scene

There will be some stuff from scene, org at the Games Day (corridor next to kitchens at Phoenix), and at Careers Day and at shop@Panasonic on Tuesday, at least one screen, Harlequin shopping centre.

Graphics from scene.org and 'A New Canvas'. PDF page to print one out.
More connections later.
Animex is mostly experimental, based at Life Bytes internet coffee house on Paris Street, Exeter. Ask for Vitalstistix are stored various downloads. Unfortunately this building may be demolished soon so something else may happen or animex may be just online.

Last year's site. Important links, Flash Forward 2005, and Scene.org. Both link to much stuff. See this page for a list of downloads available at Life Bytes.

The meeting at Project Cosmic was based on a single sheet of paper, now the base for a PDF.

If you download the latest version of Adobe Reader, version 7, you should be able to add comments. alternatively. an updated A4 sheet will be at both the Games Day and the Careers Day.

A new development-

BCS have launched e-citizen with a syllabus that connects with using a browser. So far there is not much on entertainment or media other than text. There could be an alternative course.

Skills are developing with Macromedia and Adobe products based on Mac and Windows. There are CDs from last year with shortlife versions of their software. Examples of animation formats include Quicktime, Windows Media Player and Flash. There will be some connection with the Games day and the Careers day.

Graphic design now includes web as well as print. If you worry about falling standards for typography, check this site from Amiamo, winner of a Flash Forward award for sound.

There can be links to any new stuff. Please send in suggestions.

Update 26 Feb

There will be a meeting and showing of Scene.org animation at the Central Library Exeter on April 1st. This will include a report back from CeBIT on any connected information arising. See the PDF which will also be an A4 page. Adobe server software and Prolearn are connected with animation through the wide range of uses that support more bandwidth and the range of skills that will be needed in future.
