Free Seminars explain what is new with Acrobat 9
"Publishing and Prepress" still on the agenda

A new release of Acrobat is an occasion for some free training, though often concentrating on new features. Will business presentations actually feature more video and animation now that it is possible to drop these into Powerpoint? Time will tell. The seminars on August 21st in London and 27th in Cardiff are presented by Jon Bessant from Certitec and the agenda still includes "Publishing and Prepress" though almost as the last item. The promotion of Acrobat 8 in the UK almost ignored the capability to originate a JDF file. The Job Definition Format is a print industry standard to describe all the requirements for print production associated with a PDF file. In recent year new features of Acrobat have been of interest to lawyers who want to make sure that details have been eradicated, or to engineers who want diagrams in 3D. The print features or often taken for granted or seen as a minority interest, even though most organisations still have a requirement for hard copy and would benefit from understanding the control available once they have a copy of Acrobat. Certitec has offered a course on JDF for Acrobat 8 so is well placed to describe what is possible in 9 if the audience shows an interest
